Welcome to The Chatty Goat! These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website (thechattygoat.com) and the purchase of products from our online shop. By accessing the site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use our website or purchase our products.

1. About Us

The Chatty Goat LLC is a small family homestead business based in Michigan, owned and operated by Morgan Michaluk. We handcraft small-batch goat milk soaps, lotions, sheep tallow balms, lip balms, and related goods using milk from our own herd of dairy goats. We also sell apparel and a published book, Homesteading with Dairy Goats.

2. Products

All products listed on our website are described and photographed as accurately as possible. Because our products are handmade in small batches using natural ingredients, slight variations in color, texture, scent, and appearance are normal and expected. These variations are not defects — they are part of the character of small-batch, handcrafted goods.

Product availability is not guaranteed. Items may sell out or be temporarily unavailable due to seasonal ingredients, milk supply from our herd, or production schedules.

Cosmetic Disclaimer

Our soaps, lotions, balms, and skincare products are intended for external use only. While we use natural ingredients, any product can cause an allergic reaction or skin sensitivity in some individuals. We strongly recommend the following:

• Review the full ingredient list for each product before purchase.

• Perform a patch test on a small area of skin before regular use.

• Discontinue use immediately if irritation, redness, or any adverse reaction occurs, and consult a healthcare provider.

• Keep products out of reach of children and away from eyes.

• Do not use on broken, irritated, or sunburned skin unless directed by a healthcare provider.

Our products have not been evaluated by the FDA and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or skin condition. If you are pregnant, nursing, or have a known skin condition, please consult a healthcare provider before use.

3. Orders and Payment

Placing an Order

By placing an order through our website, you make an offer to purchase the listed products under these Terms. We reserve the right to accept or decline any order at our discretion, including for reasons such as suspected fraud, product unavailability, pricing errors, or inability to ship to your location.

Pricing

All prices are listed in U.S. Dollars (USD) and do not include shipping unless otherwise noted. Prices are subject to change without notice, but the price applicable to your order is the price displayed at the time of checkout.

Sales Tax

Applicable sales tax will be calculated and added to your order total at checkout where required by law.

Payment

We accept payment through the secure payment processors integrated with our website. Payment must be received in full before your order is processed and shipped. By submitting payment information, you represent that you are authorized to use the payment method provided.

4. Shipping and Delivery

Processing Time

Because our products are handmade in small batches, please allow 5–7 business days for your order to be prepared and shipped, unless otherwise noted on the product page.

Shipping Carriers and Costs

Orders are shipped via USPS. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on weight, destination, and service selected.

Delivery Times

Estimated delivery times are provided by the shipping carrier and are not guaranteed. The Chatty Goat is not responsible for delays caused by the carrier, severe weather, holidays, or other circumstances outside our control.

Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Packages

Once a package leaves our hands and is in the carrier's possession, we cannot guarantee delivery. If your package is marked "delivered" but missing, please:

1. Check with neighbors and household members.

2. Contact your local post office or carrier.

3. File a claim with the carrier.

If your package arrives damaged, please email us at thechattygoat@gmail.com within 7 days of delivery with photos of the damaged packaging and product. We will work with you in good faith to make it right.

Shipping Address

You are responsible for providing an accurate, complete shipping address. We are not responsible for orders shipped to incorrect addresses provided at checkout. Reshipment due to address errors is at the customer's expense.

Shipping Locations

We currently ship within the United States only. We do not ship internationally at this time.

5. Returns, Refunds, and Exchanges

Because our soaps, lotions, balms, and lip balms are handmade personal-care products, we do not accept returns or exchanges on used or opened items for hygiene and safety reasons.

When We Will Make It Right

We stand behind our products. We will offer a refund, replacement, or store credit in the following cases:

• Your order arrives damaged in transit (please contact us within 7 days with photos).

• We made a mistake — wrong item, missing item, or incorrect order.

• A product has a clear manufacturing defect.

Non-Returnable Items

• Used or opened personal-care products

• Items damaged by misuse, allergic reaction, or normal wear

• Sale items, custom orders, and gift cards (unless damaged or defective)

How to Request a Refund or Replacement

Email us at thechattygoat@gmail.com with your order number and a description of the issue (with photos when applicable). Please reach out within 14 days of receiving your order.

Refund Method

Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method. Please allow 5–10 business days for the refund to appear on your statement.

6. Goats and Livestock Sales

Sales of live animals (does, bucks, kids) are handled separately from our online shop and are subject to individual sale terms agreed upon in writing between The Chatty Goat LLC and the buyer at the time of sale. Live animal sales are final and are not governed by the refund terms in Section 5. Please contact us directly for inquiries about goats for sale.

7. Book Sales

'Homesteading with Dairy Goats' is published and fulfilled by Sawdust Publishing. Purchases of the book made through Sawdust Publishing's website are subject to their terms, shipping policies, and return policies — not ours.

8. Use of the Website

You agree to use thechattygoat.com only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe on the rights of others or restrict their use of the site. You agree not to:

• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site or its servers.

• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to harvest content or data.

• Interfere with the site's normal operation or security.

• Submit false or misleading information through any form on the site.

• Use the site to transmit harmful code, spam, or unlawful material.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on thechattygoat.com — including product photos, written descriptions, blog posts, the Chatty Goat name and logo, and other original material — is the property of The Chatty Goat LLC and is protected by U.S. copyright and trademark law. Personal sharing on social media (with credit and a link back to thechattygoat.com) is welcomed and appreciated.

10. User-Submitted Content

If you submit a product review, comment, photo, or other content to our website or social media, you grant The Chatty Goat LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual right to use, display, and reproduce that content for marketing and promotional purposes, with appropriate credit where reasonable. You represent that any content you submit is your own and does not violate any third-party rights.

Information you provide when placing an order, signing up for our newsletter, or contacting us is used only to fulfill your order, communicate with you, and (with your permission) send occasional updates. Our products and the information on our website are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, except as required by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• We do not guarantee that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses.

• We do not guarantee specific results from the use of our products. Skincare results vary by individual.
